I was told “too many people called out” at my job so now if you call out, you need a doctors note. The doctor I see absolutely despises this because this policy just takes his time from others. I hate it because instead of resting, I have to drive 30 minutes away to see my doctor for a simple cold.
On top of this, I am basically charged 50 bucks for the visit. It’s like getting charged for being sick just for a stupid note. I have a disability on top of this. So whenever I have narcolepsy attacks that leave me unable to drive, guess what? I have to go to the doctor.
I miss maybe 1-3 days a month. So it’s like a 150 dollar sick bill. On top of my neurologist appointments which are more expensive (around 140 copay). I can’t afford the doctors notes. At the same time I don’t know how many places I can work that allows me to call out a few times a month due to my disability. I can’t be put on disability because I’m “not disabled enough” but I’ve drifted off the road and almost hit many cars because of my sleep disorder. I avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. I absolutely hate driving because of this. It’s sad because I used to love driving.
But anyway I’ll cut myself off here before it becomes a book. Thanks to anyone who is willing to listen to my rant.
