Things are getting worse.
When I joined, the founder was alive- hence the benefit of being “unofficial” was a real deal – as he was (granted, stories regarding “Me too” movement had been openly rumored since- but I never experienced any of it for myself and both men and women of that time were different).
Now it's just another corporate, trying to combat others like it, staying afloat in the market. What's even worse, is that HR bringing in cheap labor – people who have social or mental disabilities and can't really do the basic tasks needed from them, as part of HR “giving back” idea, I suppose (for example an autistic evening receptionist who can't sit in her place for more than 25 minutes straight- she's also holding other stations, especially after 17:00). This is not about hiring people on the spectrum – but setting basic requirements for that job (what HR is not doing). As a result workload is added. But hey! they got that station covered !!!!!
I'm blessed with the fact I can walk away and keep myself afloat with money for… the rest of my life really, but how do you leave?! How do you break the habit? On top of the inappropriate hires there's also a sadistic senior partner who's been horrible for years to assistant staff, and might actually take over, officially, from the head of the department one day (he's been smoothing his way with the department head for years now- but he's one of three who might succeed him).
