I have recently started working with a new department and have heard that most of them wake up at 4am and stop working at midnight, skip lunch, work on weekends and do not take PTO or take it and work throughout. I was shocked and grateful that I am not on their team but I asked a few of them why they do it. They told me in many ways, “well yeah we work a lot but we make so much/a lot of money!”
I found out that they make $80,000/year on average…. yes that is an okay amount but for dedicating your entire life and losing sleep/free time it is fucking pennies.
