Without going into too much detail, I was just wrongfully terminated from a job I put my heart and soul into based upon the false allegations of a supervisor. I was promoted, always receiving positive feedback, never had a formal disciplinary meeting or write up, always overworking myself (they told me to my face I was doing things out of my job description), and never took a day off – even when offered I chose to work from home. There are witnesses, besides myself, who agree I did nothing wrong. There’s camera footage backing up my story, going against what was said about me. And yet it doesn’t matter. I can genuinely say I did nothing that warrants instant termination. I think they were waiting on an opportunity, as I had been vocal about the mistreatment of lower level staff before.
Now I have to find a new job. There aren’t a lot available in my area, especially those in my career that pay well (I’m talking 9, 10, 11 dollars an hour. I live in one of the poorest states). I’m worried that I won’t be hired if they find out I was fired. If I’m in interview, I don’t know what to say or if I’m even allowed to lie. I’m sorry for being ignorant, I’ve just never been in this situation before and I’m so devastated I truly don’t know how to move forward.
I thank you all in advance for any advice you may have. I don’t have much familial support and no one close to turn to. I hope this was the proper forum, I’ve been apart of anti-work for a while now and I’ve seen similar posts, so hopefully this is alright.
