My friend works to deliver papa johns pizza. They get a base pay of 6.00 while driving and 11 while working in the store. They are compensated 24 CENTS PER MILE. and gas has gone up 85 cents (USD) in ONE WEEK. It is over 4.00 now and we don’t even live in a big city. They can drive 100 miles or more in one shift and normally fill up every 3-4 days. They drive a Honda with great mpg too.
It’s unsustainable. they have to front the money for the gas and get compensated the same 24 cents no matter how much it goes up!
We are considering striking at the store, and would like some input to what other gas-dependent drivers and delivery drivers think.
What tips do you have for striking over gas prices????
