I’m a union employee who works for my city and we’re in the midst of contract negotiations. They’re offering us a 2.5% pay increase over a period of three years… so five raises of .5% over three years. Meanwhile inflation is at 7% in the past year alone, and our mayor and the board just got a cushy 20% increase. I’m angry and exhausted and tired of not being paid what I’m worth. The union is saying to get ready to take action— I really fuckin hope that means that a lawful strike is on the horizon… but we will see. Send us all the positive vibes, we need them!
