I recently started at a company where I'm not given a work computer let alone a personal account. I get shuffled around to different locations and have to use a generic company login for every computer I access.
After finally getting on the payroll after three weeks and being given directions to create an account for pay/benefits tracking, I realize they use a separate program for processing timesheets/us to track our hours. I went to check it out today (on my own time, which is bullshit but pay is important) to see if it gave me any more clarity on their whack pay schedule, and realized I have to download/run an application on my personal PC. I've never encountered anything like this and would rather not do that. I'm not doubting deltek's legitimacy but just don't understand why I should be expected to download a timekeeping system on my personal pc, or add it on whatever random work (but not company-owned) PC I have to use given they haven't settled me in one place. I can't even email the link to myself to do that because I don't have a company email and I won't log into my personal one at work. Someone early on let me watch them do their timesheet in the office so I would be somewhat familiar, but it looked like it was just a website, which I am used to. I already dislike how much HR work I'm having to do for myself as a new hire, and actually I'm not even 100% sure there is an actual hr department here.
