work has me scared of going to sleep.

i had just started working in a hotel and it seems that the hours are the (sad) standard of 8 hours and sometimes it can be 10 as well. the problem is the bus to my work of place is an hour at each direction so that means basically not being free from morning to evening, and when i come back home im so tired i don't even have the energy to do anything. the other problem is that i know once i go to sleep i have to wake up the next morning and do it all again, so i try my best to stay up as late as possible because that's my only free time in the day. how do people do this? how are people so used to work/life having absolutely no balance? selling their lives to companies that do not care about them and most of…

how do people do this? how are people so used to work/life having absolutely no balance? selling their lives to companies that do not care about them and most of the time won't even pay them enough to live comfortably? i might sound like a whiny bitch and people who are older than me might tell me “you whine too much ive been doing it for 40 years young people these days” but it just doesn't sit right with me. we are not meant to live just to work. we wanna enjoy life, we wanna do things we enjoy, we wanna be able to sleep.. is that too much to ask?
