I work for a small family owned business. There are five total employees. Two warehouse people, one counter person, me (secretary) and the boss/owner.
Like the title states…
My boss always gives me dates of his planned vacations and religious holidays. Because if he's out of town then I'll be needed to open and sometimes close. I always put the dates in my phone calendar as we discuss them. I have his days up until July. My husband and I planned our vacation last night for a week in August. I came in this morning an first things first give my boss the dates. “Oh those were dates I was going to be out of town”. I show him my calendar and say, “I don't have anything for you past July”. He says ” we must not have finalized it then”. Well if we didn't finalize it, then I did not agree to be available for those days! Right?? How dare he just assume because he asked me that I would. I obviously didn't “finalize” anything because I knew we would be planning a vacation that month. That week works perfectly for us because we have my stepson that weekend and it's right before school/sports starts. Ugh I'm just so frustrated. I move my weekends around and pay a babysitter for him all the time. I feel really taken advantage of, I'm really upset.
