Last year I made and deleted a post about my boss who presented me with a performance improvement plan with no prior writeups or warnings with a 3 month period for improvement- despite being directed to do most of the thing they cited me doing “wrong.” Basically, they thought I would be stupid enough to stay until the end of Q4 to help with their acquisitions before firing me. I said fuck that, found another job with less work for the same pay, and bounced ASAP taking another person in the team who was in the same situation.
Fast forward to now, I just heard through the grapevine that she got laid off. Kicker is, she made a comment to me about “no one's job is safe” a little while before our PEP meeting, and would always brag to the new hires that job security was one of our biggest benefits.
Not really a victory for the working class, but it always feels nice when Karma plays out.
