Government decides to “help” low income persons with program nearly all are disqualified from.

So, the Canadian government decided to help those who are low income with their rent. Sounds great right? Well, you're only getting a 1 time $500 CAD “Rent Top-up”, as if that will actually help you afford rent. Here's the kicker: you need to have made UNDER $20,000.00 CAD (~14650.00 usd at time of posting) last year to even qualify, and on top of that, 30% or more of your paycheck had yo go to rent (as if people making that little had any money after rent payment) But fuck you if you make barely above minimum wage and pay 85% of your paycheck in rent. Keep in mind, for those who don't know, rent in Canada is horrendous, with the average 1 bedroom in the city being 1400-1500 cad, + utilities costs.

I'm not sure if this is directly anti-work, but this really pisses me off, as someone who is busting their ass with barely above minimum wage working 40 hours a week, and I can't get help to not be low income.
