Have companies stopped acknowledging government holidays if they fall on weekends?

US based (sadly). I just found out that my new job where I was told I get 7 paid holidays, unsure which ones at this point, won’t be acknowledging the Mondays after Christmas and New Years. Needless to say I’m pissed. I back checked the company holiday calendars and found nothing about government/bank holidays that land on weekends. Shit I can’t even find the employee handbook in the intranet site. My apple calendar says Christmas is “observed” on Monday but I guess not for me. And I work for a relatively well known large company. Guess I’ll be job hopping again after 2 months here 🤡. The already red flags are BRIGHT RED CRIMSON.
