Owners kids, family, friends, and all managers get free food, while cooks are told they can't eat on the job, they have to throw leftovers, and there are really no benefits to speak of.
Cellphones are not allowed (and having one on you is a fireable offense). Being late just a few minutes will earn you a write-up. And these people proudly advertise that they're hiring for some of the lowest wages in town.
But “people don't want to work anymore”. That's the problem.
