My boss said he doesn’t trust me to do my job and I’ve hit my breaking point

I’m in quality, measuring parts and writing reports. A few months back, I had my first ever mistake that, while easily rectified, caused my boss to flip out and write me up. Since then, he’s been getting more and more on my ass about minor things and it’s causing me to get nervous about even performing my job. Yesterday, I had my performance review and he said I’ve been making a lot of mistakes and I pointed out the only mistake I made was the one from months ago. Apparently, he considers any time the data is analyzed and I have to fix one or 2 data points (which takes 5 minutes max) to be a mistake.

The thing is, if the numbers are good, you aren’t going to think much about it until it gets thrown in the analyzer app. It’s not my fault if the highest number is a little too high or the lowest number is a little too low.

Anyways, during the review, he straight up said he doesn’t trust my ability to do my job and I won’t be trained on anything else till I prove I can do my job. He also said he’s going to audit my work to see if it’s actually good. I asked him if the trust is that bad why isn’t he just firing me. He said he believes in giving people a chance.

Today, I went into the analyzer as I do every single day, with him in the room, and he flipped out and asked what I was doing. I said my job.

I think I’m taking tomorrow off because I can’t deal with the second guessing and not being trusted.

I’ve been looking for jobs so I think I’ll spend my day tomorrow doing more of that.
