A job I had a year ago, mercilessly fired me for “negativity.” Mind you I was bullied constantly by three of my coworkers. Even after only being there a couple weeks, I couldn’t make any mistakes or I was scrutinized. So I kept to myself mostly. Just did my job, was polite and helpful with clients, I showed up on time, did what was asked best I could, got paid, and went home. I found out that the girl I replaced had also been fired too because she, as a coworker would constantly remind us, “was an idiot.” They would constantly make fun of this poor girl that I had apparently replaced. This also, aside from how I was treated, put a really bad taste in my mouth. But I figured as long as I do my job, don’t complain, and keep my head down I’d be fine. Nope. I came back from being out sick for a week, and my desk had been cleared off and I had to walk out in front of everyone. Since I live in an at-will state, and I had only been there a couple months, there was nothing I could do. They also didn’t pay me for the New Year holiday after they specifically told me I would get paid for it. As long as I worked certain days. Which…I did. And didn’t get paid for the holiday despite that.
So, anyway. They let me go. They hire my replacement. I get a new job. Life continued on.
Sometimes I still like to look at jobs available in my area for giggles and grins. I usually stay logged out of my accounts on the job websites. Well, about a month after getting the boot from my last job, they already had an ad out on indeed for yet another person to replace the person who replaced me. They had already fired her. But when I logged into my account that job was not visible whatsoever. So I logged back out, and there it was. The first dang page. Which made it clear they hid themselves from me.
Why? Are they delusional enough to think I’d re-apply? Are they hiding something? Why would you hide a hiring ad from a previous employee? What’s the point?
And, by the way, they have now fired three people since they fired me. I’m kind of pissed that they keep doing this and getting away with it. So I have warned every single person I know, who is looking for a job, to steer way clear of that place. I want so bad to put and end to their crap, the way they treat people, then dump them like yesterday’s trash. But…”at-will” and all…
Also, if anyone knows where I can write an anonymous review to warn potential applicants to not apply, and it actually be truly anonymous…let me know. I feel like people have a right to know, and be warned, that’s there’s a good chance they’ll get let go.
