Is it wrong to quit over email?

So I’m quitting my job, in my head today was my last day as I have orientation for the new job in a few days. My current manager doesn’t know. When I first started this job it was great but then they got new managers and they’re running it into the ground. I know I don’t owe them anything but I’m wondering if I should just call them to quit or email. Either way they’ll be pissed but I’d rather do it over email just so I don’t have to have a painstaking conversation over the phone. The funny thing is 2 of my other coworkers who recently quit now work at the new job I got. But what do you guys think?
