By definition, welfare programs are put in place to assist people that are not making enough money to get by, or have no income whatsoever due to inability to work (disability, injury, etc.)
If everyone is struggling to get by even when working full-time in jobs that require strict qualifications, especially nowadays with ridiculous inflation and unachievable costs of living, doesn’t that mean that most of us qualify for welfare?
Imagine the strain on governments when so many people start applying for social assistance due to the policies they’ve put in place and supported that made the rich richer and the poor poorer.
And imagine the representation of the United States and other countries in the media if they have to report that so many people in their own first-world country are turning to welfare to get by.
We should honestly hit them where it hurts and make them pay up for the awful financial circumstances they put us in.
