Work summary/time log

Have any of you been asked to submit work summaries or time logs of how you spent your day/what you worked on? I find this to be a deal breaker as far as what makes a work environment comfortable. I’m offended by these types of questions and I consider it to be an invasion of privacy to be asked how I budget my time with regard to my job responsibilities. If there’s an issue with an employee’s performance, of course that needs to be addressed – but to just be asking people to recap their work is a huge red flag to me. It’s obvious that the vast majority of people prefer to work from home. Instead of accepting that, management would rather alienate employees by asking invasive questions about time.
