I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this but I’m going to anyway, about a day or 2 ago me and a few of my coworkers were going through our schedule and saw that a 18 year old girl who was one of our more diligent and consistent workers was scratched off the schedule completely for that specific day and we thought nothing of it and thought she may have called out and that same day we hired a new person and she came in and worked the shift the same day, next day come around and our coworker isn’t back and me and another manager who are good friends of her call her and text her with no response, we work the closing shift not knowing anything about her or her whereabouts and close the store later that night at around 4 am I get a call from my best friend who’s the same manager trying to get ahold of the girl and tells me that our coworker we all were so close too died. What bothered me was the lack of heads up from our supervisors who obviously knew my coworker passed since they hired her replacement the same day she didn’t show up just makes me further realize we are nothing but a cog in a machine that can be replaced once we are finished I’m typing this all out sitting at work looking out the windows and staring at the parking spot she used to religiously park at and the atmosphere in here in extremely sad again i don’t know if this is the right place to post this but still
Edit: I appreciate the few who are taking time to write me comments of support I really appreciate every single one of them Im aware we live in extremely hard times and have never really asked for handouts from complete strangers but if you can please donate what you can to the go fund me for her funeral her mom set up for her anything helps thank you https://www.gofundme.com/f/te7zry-funeral-services?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&fbclid=IwAR0k4jDv4W3NRIZ0Q2Qnd-v7SZx_j-qwRF9ZoumjeFG_lMurDDVbeKHtCEY
