The absolute audacity of some companies astounds me

So ive been applying for some remote positions, and got a response for a sort of pre-interview. Where the company would vet everybodies pcs to make sure they met the requirements, and then schedule interviews for the following day. During this pre interview, they told us that it was a 1099 contract position. Ok, not unheard of, not great, but I know how to do my taxes so no worries. Then they tell us that the first week well be doing training, and the following week nesting. Ok pretty standard. Then they tell us that we wont get paid our first check till 3 weeks after we start our training. Thats the first redflag. Then they say that the first week only gets paid after working for 30 days. In essence, the first check will only pay for the nesting and one week of work. You wont even get paid…

In essence, the first check will only pay for the nesting and one week of work. You wont even get paid for the training week for atleast 2 or 3 pay periods. Then they very quickly say we will be expected to pay a fee of 9.75 a week just to connect to their CRM and do our work. They did this so fast i expect half in the meeting didnt even catch it. More red flags. Then when they have us do the system check, it turns out that they require everyone to have Windows 10 pro. Ive worked in remote call centers before, and they never cared what edition of windows we had as long as it was current enough to do the job. I email the recruiter, and they explain its important they have remote access to my machine at all times so they can get files from me when needed. Essentially they wanted to use the remote desktop feature of windows 10 pro to have free reign to roam my system. Strike 3 on the red flags…. at this point I inform them that I am no longer interested and leave the call.

You should never pay your employer to work
You should never allow your employer to get away with not paying you in a timely manner
You should never allow your employer free access to your personal computer. They do not own it, they do not have the right.

for anyone interested to know which company it is, so they can avoid it, its Inktel. They are hiring in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina

Avoid them.
