Pay attention to job posts employers will 100% take advantage of you if you let them.

I don’t know if this is common knowledge or not, but I was speaking with an employment recruiter today and was directly told that companies will deliberately try and trick you with the wording of their posts. The example that he gave left me feeling sick. He stated that employers will state in postings “degree preferred but not required” as a way to help recruit college graduates without having to actually pay them for their education since the degree is “not required”. I had no idea that was even a recruitment tactic. If you’re looking for work be careful. Do not let an employer exploit your time, experience, or credentials. Look up the average median salary in your state for your experience and credentials. If you’re offered anything less than that tell them they can professionally go and fuck themselves.
