My organization is growing and we posted a role today that is very similar to my position, in both types of responsibility and amount, but in a different department. The requirements also do not contain any kind of post secondary education, while mine requires a minimum of a degree. But the salary for this position is $600 more than what I make, and I’ve been with the company for over 5 years.
Is this worth speaking up about? If so, how do I approach it? I’m NOT versed in standing up for myself in the workplace, but thanks to this sub I did mentally flag this and my knee jerk reaction was to take offence. My company has recently been showing initiative in staff retention practices so I’m just left feeling a little insulted here, even though it’s only $600 a year.
