I’ve been really stressed over these last couple of months with management. Yesterday was the last straw for me and I don’t know why I didn’t do anything sooner about this.
Long story short, my role is like a mini manager up at the front registers. I’m supposed to be delegating tasks to other sales associates that are assigned at the register, such as doing go backs if it’s not busy, calling for back up if it’s needed. etc. basically anything that has to do with the front.
My tasks are making sure order pick ups are all signed out, damages are done, go backs are organized, bags are filled, receipt papers are filled, grab and go area is organized and filled, and the gift card area is filled. Gift with purchases are organized and filled out in the binder. I’m also suppose to help associates that need help at the registers with questions or need a bill check and I’m suppose to pull up numbers for boutiques. I’m also supposed to train the new hires when we get new hires.
Lately I feel like they want just me at the registers checking out customers and sometimes I’m just the only one up there well mangers delegate tasks to associates. I feel like I’m just a credit card machine, I’ve talked to management about it but nothing has changed.
I’ve thought about going to HR because over all it just seems like a toxic work environment where everyone talks about each other and it’s over all draining. But I don’t want to lose my job, by going to HR. I love working with makeup, so I’ve thought of a solution.
I want to transfer locations, my position is available at a location that’s closer to me and I want to transfer, but how do I go about this to my manager? How long do I have to be with the company at this location in order to transfer? I’m honestly just stressed out about the whole thing. I just want a fresh new start.
