I have been working at this remote call center, I was a temp hired in October of 2020. As a temp I expected my wage to be low, but the company reached out to hire me directly in June of 2021. With that came a .50 cent raise and added responsibilities of helping other callers with escalated issues or training.
I got another promotion to team lead, I would have to grade calls, assist in any projects. I also had to monitor 10 users to make sure they were meeting quotas and training more when needed. This came with another .50 cent raise. This makes my wage 15.00 an hour. Want to know what minimum wage is in my state as of January? 15.00 an hour. So despite multiple promotions I am making minimum wage. This means I am being paid the same as an entry level position. PLUS I was promised benefits after 30 days. It has been almost a year of me being hired with the company and no one has talked to me about benefits.
Needless I have been looking for another job that is remote.
Luckily I found one and applied, after a month I heard back. I had three interviews with in a week and was sent an offer letter yesterday. This will be a significant pay increase and benefits as soon as I start. In the short time of interacting with this new company I have seen more faces than I have in my current position of a year and half. I have my letter of resignation typed out but I have half the mind to announce during a company-wide meeting, or via email to every person.
