Antiwork

I have a suspicion that a situation might happen and I would like some help dealing with it if it happens, please.

So my birthday is next week, and I took Wednesday Thursday Friday off, along with having the weekend off normally to give myself a 5 day weekend. I sent a pto request into work a month ago, I have the form and a picture was sent to my manager. Now said manager has been extremely lazy and on a couple different accounts, just doesn't do his job. Now I'm worried that I'm gonna not go in on Wednesday, and he's gonna call me, text me, whatever to wonder where I am and say “I didn't see the pto request you need to be here, we don't have coverage blah blah blah.” My problem is, I don't work a retail job where someone can fill my spot instantly. I sent a pto request into work a month ago, I have the form and a picture was sent to my manager.

Now I'm worried that I'm gonna not go in on Wednesday, and he's gonna call me, text me, whatever to wonder where I am and say “I didn't see the pto request you need to be here, we don't have coverage blah blah blah.”

My problem is, I don't work a retail job where someone can fill my spot instantly. I work in a place where there's only a handful of people can even fill my spot, and 2 others work that same day at different times( the 3 of us are on an 8 hour rotation during the week).

So if he starts saying that I need to be here, can I get punished? Can I get fired? This is the highest pay job I can find in my field rn and I'd rather not get fired. Do I have a defense?
