For the reference – worked on a cruise ship for 6 years and started on an entry position and grabbed over 10 promotions reaching top-tier management.
The entry positions are generally paid at $500-$600 per month.
For $600 per month – you will work every single day (literally) – while your 'day off' will mostly be 2 hour off during lunch or breakfast time once a week.
Some people get stuck on these positions for a year or two, working 70 hours per week ( at minimum )

Later on, the salary gradually rises up – in my department the next tier is $950 fixed, then later, from a pool of 'mandatory tips' from the guests that can ask their tip money back at any given time, often resulting in a $1000 per month salary (3rd promotion)
That whole industry is toxic, fake and evades the laws in every single possible way, from having ridiculous polices crafted shoreside by people who never visited the ship up to health standards that cannot be maintained. USPH knows that while they are doing their so called inspections, half of the ship inventories ends up in crew cabins cause they cannot be found during inspections.

Sexism, favors, nation-wide clans, managers that got promotions for only god knows which reasons, harrasements, conflicts of interest, managers editing working hours, mistreating employees while pushing for “we are family” while being brainwashed on dozens of corporate trainings.
