Iowa is trying to pass a law allowing children to work in previously prohibited areas considered dangerous (meat packing, mining, heavy equipment, demolition) but now if it's a “training program” its all okay AND “the proposed legislation would also exempt employers from civil liability if the child is sickened, injured, or killed because of negligence by the business. The state could fine the business, but that penalty is capped at $10,000.”
