So my company was bought out at the end of 2021 and now we are switching over from our old software to our new software. In the old software, my job was X. In the new software, X is done automatically. As a company, we are working in both systems for awhile. Here is the following (virtual) conversation:
Supervisor: Hey, work in X is low. There’s plenty for you to do. If you run out of stuff please let me know.
…..what? Why do I have to to let you know when I need work? You literally just told me you know that there’s no work. If the stuff that I was hired to do is all completed, and you don’t send me something else….I’m not going to go out of my way to tell you I need more work. There’s plenty of other stuff that I can do for my personal life and get paid to be waiting for work stuff.
