All the posts about “gifts” to show appreciation. I think they (employers) are doing this on purpose there’s no way they are THAT out if touch… or are they?

Constantly seeing tons of posts about “gifts” with cute phrases or quirky little puns. For the first time, my wife who works at the big giant bullseye retail store came home with a fruit roll up and an uneven cut note. (ironic part it I jokingly said it was probably a returned item and they didn’t want to throw it out… which ended up being the case) But this brings me to my question, if you aren’t doing this shit on purpose then they are dangerously out of touch. And isn’t it also ironic someone is being paid to make and print this bullshit? Again I ask, at what point can a manager/corporate or whoever say “you know, I have a great idea” and don’t you dare scoff at the idea or else you are an ungrateful piece of shit. I am slowly changing my mind from them being out of touch ti just fucking doing it because they can, anyone else think this?
