Am I being underpaid?

I was recently offered a new sales position by a friend that pays significantly more than my current job. I spoke with my current employer and asked if they could offer anything/counter. After a week of back and forth they came to the conclusion that I’m being paid fair and will not be countering. Now a little background on my position. I’ve been in my position for 3 years and have improved efficiency in that position so that I can complete my duties in about 20 hours. This has allowed me a bunch of free time to pick up additional duties. I now run a department, my own position and am the company trainer. The person who had my position before me was their 20+ years and always needed overtime to complete their work. The average salary for my position in my area is about 50k, which is what I’m making and the previous employee was making before they left. Given that I’ve picked up extra work over the course of 3 years, shouldn’t my salary compensate for that? Am I being paid unfairly?
