For the past 2 years I have been combining my lunch break with my 2 15 minute breaks, taking an hour to walk with my girlfriend. This has never once been an issue. Apparently it's not allowed under NY state labor laws. The breaks have to be broken up. My manager recently bitched at me about my breaks, even though it doesn't hurt anything. So my question is, does anyone know how long you have to work between breaks before you take your next break, in accordance to NY state labor laws? I would very much like to come back to work for 10 minutes only to leave again for 20. Having the law back it up would be great to have for any arguments that may come from that.
