Pro-Rent, Pro-Landlord is Pro-Capitalism

Isn't this an anti-capitalist sub? It's confusing seeing so many people here defending predatory capitalists in the form of rent/landlords. I understand some may feel they have decent landlords, I understand some tenants may cause issues (guarantee It's mostly poverty-related), but ultimately we should be moving toward housing being gauranteed along with education, healthcare, etc. Seems that it's difficult for many to wrap their heads around a social structure that doesn't rely on exploitation and profit. If we at least had UBI (universal basic income), and rent-control, that would solve many issues in the short-term. It's also ridiculous seeing “this issue will kill the movement” – the mentality that said the same thing about the moniker 'Black Lives Matter'.  I'm not going to coddle anyone or wait for their lack of critical thinking skills to catch up with the rest of us – we can pull them into progress knucklesDragging.…

One of my favorite books on the subject, highly recommended:

'Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City', by Matthew Desmond, 2016.
