I just did an online interview for a position with Cancure. Their headquarters is in Australia supposedly and they do cancer research. Their website seems legit. The interview seemed legit. All seemed normal until I was offered the job thirty minutes later.
The lady confirmed my contact info and says the company is mailing me a laptop and a badge. Don’t know why I need a badge for a remote position……then she says the company is sending a check for me to deposit into my bank account so I can purchase the rest of my office supplies at a nearby Staples or Best Buy.
So at this point I’m like….yes. Probably a scam. What do I do now
