I work in a firm in Poland, and our TL (Team Leader) is considerably worse than other leaders. She got a job only because of nepotism and having ties with someone even higher up, even though she is not qualified, work experience wise or education. She mostly doesn't know what needs to be done, or what we produce or what the process is. The kicker? She got her friend into the job here, one of the starting positions. The new girl “M” has been here for barely a month, barely did anything, because she has supposed back problems and having some metal in her spine. Of course, TL and M are friends, and for most part of the month, they took breaks together in the middle of the work, M takes constant breaks (think like: works 5 min and then takes a 20 min break, M comes back and TL comes to M and they together sit and chat for 30 minutes. Rinse and repeat). And now, after not even a month working here, M is getting a higher position, as one of the critical workers (for a lack of a better word, there is no such word for her position in the English language, I think). M, just like TL, has no experience with the position.
Now, the work was nice, the pay wasn't too bad, and it was manageable. But this team is a shitshow because of TL and M. They make us do more work, we have to figure out everything ourselves, we can't ask basic questions. Now basically everyone in our team is looking for a better job or just straight out leaving, which adds more work we have to do. I already gave my weeks notice, and next week Friday will be my last day at work.
