I am in a small IT company. I got this job right after I graduated from college and thought that it would be wonderful. However, it is the contrary. The boss is abusive and yells at people at the time. Everyone is scared of him. It is the unwritten rule that when he yells at you, you must acknowledge your mistake and apologize. Because the company has office in Asia, I have to attend meeting and talk to colleagues at night. Though it doesn't take too much of my time and they pay for your time, I found this annoying. One night at around 8pm when I was eating dinner, he requested an online meeting where he yelled at me and everyone for not understanding him and following his direction. He would direct the manager to fire people who disagree with him. As the owner, he is extremely authoritarian and no one dares to raise any issues or disagree with him. He would constantly direct us to give up all the work and prioritize his project only to be withdrawn a week later. I felt like working here took a toll on my mental health. Perhaps the only good thing here is I get to use my health insurance to see a therapist. He is not at the office everyday but if he is, we can always hear him screaming at someone. It is my first job and i regretted so much. I felt like it's gonna look bad on my resume. But I can't imagine keep working here and put up with his abusive attitude.
