I’m about to start an amazing new job next week, and I gave my employers a two-week notice last Monday.
They told me NOT to tell any of my coworkers or clients. Clients, I understand, but I want to prepare my coworkers for my departure because they’ll likely inherit my workload. So I told my team anyways.
My bosses have been nothing but passive aggressive to me all last week. They even called me updating my work history on LinkedIn (to add the new job) “risky” and that now they’ll be “forced to tell people I’m leaving”. Mind you, my profile is private and I have 0 clients on LinkedIn.
I have full support from my team to just quit tomorrow but I still feel bad about it. I wiped my company computer and I’m prepped to ship it.
What’s my issue? Why can’t I just be excited to have a week off before I start my new job? And what should I even say?
