I’ve been looking for a new job for a while now. Out of the 100+ applications I’ve filled out in the past month alone, I’ve only managed to get three interviews. Two of those interviews went really well, and I’m just waiting to hear back. That’s the problem, though: it’s been two weeks, and I haven’t heard anything. I called on one, and they’re “still selecting a candidate.” They treated me like I was already an employee when I interviewed with them!
There are other companies that are actively hiring for a job I am perfect for. Two months later, not a word, but the positions are still open.
I’ve had this problem my entire life. Apply for a job, maybe get an interview, IF you’re lucky, and IF you hear back at all, it’s three to six weeks before hearing back.
If you’re hiring, then hire people now, not two months from when you post the job! If you’re going to do that, then say “this is for a job that will start two months from now.” It’s not that difficult. I’m so tired of companies dragging their asses on hiring.
Oh, wages. We all know this one. Post your pay scale with your job post. I don’t want to waste my time if I’m just going to get lowballed.
