I thought you might like a good laugh.
Company hires me to work on ERP system. This system is so obscure that 99.9% of people have not worked on it. I was honest that I have not but I've worked on other ERP systems. I was totally honest during my interview and my time on the role.
I work the job. I don't break any policies, rules, or laws. No complaints about me whatsoever. Today they lay me off on day 29 because I didn't have enough experience with ERP systems. No warning, no coaching, no talking to the recruiter-nothing.
I call the recruiter and he was of course pissed. He said he wasn't notified at all. The company ghosts and ignores him when he reaches out.
So now I am job less even though I told them my level of experience at the beginning. I also live in an area where it's very hard to hire so it's difficult to find the right candidate (I've heard this from multiple recruiters).
Edit: I was provided access to the new ERP system only a little over a week ago.
