I work in marketing at a big company, but my team is pretty small. I used to be an assistant and I got promoted to a specialist. I was offered the position 3 weeks ago and I just transitioned last week. My direct supervisor started to dump work on me right after my onboarding and keeps asking me if the work is done yet. After a week in the new position…
To make it worst, I didn’t get the position I applied for. I’m making more than I used to make but less than I wanted. This is my first time getting promoted so I’m not used to the process. But shouldn’t there be a time to get acclimated to the new position?? Like why is my supervisor wanting to see results and hit my goals after 2 weeks??
Mind you, I still have my current responsibility plus the new tasks that I have to learn.
It’s really wearing on me. I’m doing the best I can, but I feel like I’m being a failure and like I have to prove myself even though I feel like I’ve been doing a great job before the promotion.
Can anyone relate? Any advice to navigate this situation is appreciated.
