I was picking up some greenery for the festivities today, and they were using plastic storage containers with the numbers corresponding to our tickets in line written on them to keep track of who was getting what. When I got to the register, the budtender had a stool where he could place the container, and he said to the other budtender taking over for him (he was going on break) “Can we make these things permanent? It’s so nice to have somewhere to put these!”
The other budtender says “No, they won’t let us. They don’t want to have somewhere for us to sit, they think it makes us look lazy.”
I couldn’t believe it. You’re selling weed, I sell booze for a living right up the street and I can sit WHENEVER I want to; my boss knows my back isn’t great and taking a break inbetween customers isn’t something my boss cares about. This chain dispensary thinks stoners give two sh*ts about whether or not the budtenders are sitting?
I told the guy I was going to come home and make a post, and he said “Please do” in the most defeated voice. I know 4/20 is a busy day, I had to come in late because it was way too busy there for me earlier in the day so I thought I’d wait till it died down; still took me about a half hour which isn’t bad at all honestly. Let these guys have some stools!
