I applied for a job last week and had a phone interview that went pretty well. However, when scheduling an on-site interview I had told them I was available tomorrow (Wednesday), and the calendar invite they sent me was for today (Tuesday). I promptly emailed them back and said I was not available Tuesday and asked if Wednesday would be acceptable like we agreed upon. After several days, they never responded, even after I followed up with another email, until today when they called me asking why I didn’t show up. I politely told them I am not available today and asked if they had seen my email. They of course said no, and said they would check the email and follow up with me.
I’m concerned they will somehow try to pin this miscommunication on me and it will impact my candidacy for the position. Has anyone dealt with anything like this before? I’m still waiting for them to “follow up”.
