I’m still sitting in the airport waiting for an alternate flight to get home.
Last night at 10:30, I had a seat on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Atlanta. Delta Airlines oversold this flight by 21 seats! People were PISSED. Some folks missed international connections, some people will miss work, or funerals, and weddings because of corporate greed.
The worst part, only one employee was left to authorize travel vouchers and make alternate arraignments for all 21 displaced passengers. Her shift was supposed to end at 11pm. She ended up staying until 3am with us getting everything sorted out. She confesses that she would not be getting overtime, she hadn’t had time to eat dinner, and that everyone else who could help had already gone home. Collectively we were owed thousands of dollars and she had to sort all this out on her own. It was so hard to watch. It was HOURS of abuse.
How is this shit legal?
