Companies Should Not Be Using Whatsapp for Work

During the height of the pandemic I noticed that some bosses started using Whatsapp Groups or direct 1 to 1 messaging as a way of keeping in touch as we worked from home. Is it just me or is this very wrong on many levels if: 1) it's your personal number 2) work-related messages come in after working hours 3) there is no email thread to back up requests or conversations via the whatsapp group or 1 to 1 messaging. I've mentioned this to other people but they say I'm being anti-social. I just don't believe that my whatsapp account should be polluted with work messages, we have Slack, Teams, or whatever other app for that. The idea of texting your family in Whatsapp and seeing a work message come in on the same platform, and the sender of the work message can see that you're online whenever you open…

I just don't believe that my whatsapp account should be polluted with work messages, we have Slack, Teams, or whatever other app for that.

The idea of texting your family in Whatsapp and seeing a work message come in on the same platform, and the sender of the work message can see that you're online whenever you open Whatsapp and whether or not you read the message is fucking gross to me.
