I work at a liqor store and from day one my boss has been sketchy. I don't know where to start….
When I got hired my boss gave me no training and my co worker who quit immediately after I got fired trained me, they quit because my boss after hiring me and having me work there for 2 days without doing paperwork realized I was trans and was planning on ghosting me
He actually ignored me for a week after those first 2 days until his current employee quit because she thought it was unfair for not hiring me because he and I quote said “I don't know how the customers will react” and “I felt tricked”
Keep in mind he himself did realize I was trans until a few days working with me..
Eventually because he was short staffed he hired me and iv been working here for 4 months, I buy dognuts or cookies on the weekend, I sweep and mop regularly and I do a number of things all that being said I do more than the average employee and he had acknowledged that.
My co worker noticed I was a hard worker and told my boss I was smart, because of that my boss decided to give me paperwork he had been neglecting to do for 4 months because “I don't trust anyone else to do it” as he said
He gave me a .75 raise and made a big deal about it even tho minimum wage went up .50 right when he gave me the paperwork so he actually gave me a. .25
He told me he would give me another .50 but he never did
Anyway that brings us to the present… iv caught up all the paperwork, my co worker quit so now I'm working from 8am to 9pm
He knew about this for 2 weeks and me and my other co worker have been giving im lots applications but I haven't seen/heard from in those entire 2 weeks
Now my co worker told me they aren't coming in today and I'm fucked
I called my boss and asked to be given a commensible wage and pay me what he originally offerd for doing the paperwork and he offerd to give me a 50 dollar bonus and he said I was questioning his authority as a boss and he's just a small business trying to recover from covid but I am doing his finance paperwork I know how much he makes/takes home
Profits have been down 30k ever sense September around that time he basically stopped being a boss and never showed up anymore and the entire store looked empty for months with that being said he still makes a fuck ton…
Now no one comes but regulars and they are all really nice in fact the regulars love me
Anyway today after I asked for a .50 pay raise he is basically telling me to quit or “if things aren't working out here just go somewhere else”
I like this job and I don't wanna screw over my other co worker because he has 2 jobs and a kid and he would be left by himself
My boss said he is gunna talk to me tomorrow but I'm scared he's gunna fire me idk what to do
Fun fact pretty sure he's also addicted to coke..
Tldr: shitty boss dosent wanna give me a .50 raise when mc donalds pays 3 dollars more than him even tho I do more than the average employee and all the customers like me
