I have been working in the aerospace industry for a while now and can not think of a single time an MBA has provided any value to a project. MBA's are what cause the bloat in corporate America and force down salaries for everyone else. Significant cost savings could be achieved if we cut out the MBA “bean counters” and reallocate their salaries to real value added positions such as engineers, technicians, quality inspectors, mechanics, and drafters. You know, the people who actually have the knowledge and expertise to produce the product that the MBA's “manage”. Personally I would rather pay money to watch paint dry than get an MBA. Imagine the company Boeing would be today if high level decisions were made by the people who make the product instead of the MBAs leaches.
