So I've been applying to jobs in the marketing field since that's my area of expertise, but I've been out of work for a while since I went back to school. I totally forgot how scammy some of these marketing companies are.
So I picked up the phone very enthusiastically, ready to scam bait and the woman says “hi, I'm so and so from so and so company that you applied for” I was totally shocked. I worked for one of these sketchy scam marketing companies back in 2019 so at that point I know exactly what's going on, but I continue the call and we hang up. I immediately look up the phone number and the company pops up.
All young, inexperienced looking ppl. Nothing about this looks professional. I go to the website which is basically a landing page and integrated Instagram. The instagram is just full of company outings. Lmfao no fckin thanks. For some reason everybody is overdressed and in suits. I remember dressing just like that when I worked for the previous company. This is probably one of those direct sales companies and they probably get $15 at best for a fck load of traveling and long hours standing up in stores. No thank you.
I had recently heard there were scam companies on indeed and I tried to deny it, but the proof slapped me right in the face! BEWARE OF INDEED!
