Background: I’ve worked at this position for a year, was told there was quick growth before getting hired. I possess a bachelors degree in computer engineering and multiple certifications, and work as an IT help desk technician.
I asked my boss about a promotion. I was told to be patient and there was no defined timeline for a promotion for me. I asked for advice on how to get there, and I was told to “get to know everyone”, “knock on their door to see how its going”, “ask them about their personal lives”.
I can’t stand when people tell me to be patient.
