Today I was accused of using a company card to make a personal purchase.

I work for a small business in Phoenix, Az. We have four employees in the shop including myself and the owner. The owner has two business debit cards, one he holds on to and one he has his main shop guy hold on to. During the week they will pass around the cards between us to get lunch and other supplies. Last Wednesday he gave me his card and asked me to go get some bolts from Ace Hardware and lunch for the shop from Firehouse Subs. Both places are next to each other and about 2 miles from the shop. I drove my own truck, got lunch for the shop and the bolts we needed, nothing was said about how long I was gone when I returned with lunch, bolts, card, and receipts. This morning I go into work and the owner calls me over to ask me about a print shop. Then he tells me there were charges on his card to a print shop on the same day I took his card to get lunch. The print shop is about a mile away from my house, which is 12 miles from the shop. He then tells me that I was gone for two hours that day. There is no way to prove how long I was gone because we don't use a time clock. He basically tells me he thinks I made these charges and hes sending me home until his wife and the bank figure out who made the charges.

I don't really know what to do. I know I didn't make the charges to the print shop. I don't feel I deserve to be called a liar and a thief while having work taken away from me for something I didn't do. How do I even go back to an employer who thinks so little of me to straight up accuse me of being dumb enough to risk my job over $133.00.

Do I have any legal footing?
