Absolutely dreading return to the office. Even Hybrid. How do you guys feel?

Hi all, As the title suggests, my company's making us come back to the office soon and I'm absolutely dreading it. Because of WFH, the flexibility and freedom aspect is just so much greater. I don't have to wake up at 6 AM when it's cold, put my silly suit on, make my hair literally every day, catch the crowded train, make sure I reach the office on time at all costs. This way I can wake up closer to 9, work on my schedule (still obviously get everything done and meet deadlines), have lunch with my grandma, maybe take a short nap if I'm too tired/stressed and even have something playing in the background as I work. And once work is over, I can just kick back because I'm already at home, unlike reaching at like 7 PM or so after a long and tiring commute. All the work…

Hi all,

As the title suggests, my company's making us come back to the office soon and I'm absolutely dreading it. All the work gets done, we have meetings when we need to, I feel even the learning aspect is better this way because you can just share screen on Teams and record. When you're unsure of something or don't get it, you can just watch the video and perform the task. Whereas in real life, it feels silly asking the same thing or bothering a supervisor when they're clearly busy.

I just feel like it serves no significant purpose. Sure, there are some benefits to it, but not to the point that they're substantial enough for me to come to the office. I get all the socializing with your co-workers thing, but again it's not a good enough reason to do everything I need to in order to get to the office and return home when it's dark. These people aren't my family, they aren't my friends. The extent of our conversations are some jokes and sports talk, which can obviously all be done online.

Gyms are finally opening up here and I've been meaning to get back since I've gotten way out of shape. Again, it'll be so much harder to do if I'm occupied from 6 AM until like 7/8 PM.

Hybrid's better than nothing, but I'm not even on board with that. The world has completely changed in the past 2 years and I feel like I'm just not going back to this bs that would make me unhappy and even make me have thoughts about existentialism on the train. I'm looking at fully remote accounting jobs. I might even look into becoming a digital nomad.

What do you guys think? Are you ready to go back, maybe upset but in the ” sucks, but what can you do boat”? Like I said above, I feel like I just can't live my life like that.
