Just had this interview with a major tech company that was basically labled one of the best tech companies to work for in the area. the manager came off kinda of rude and disrespectful by saying that compensation is set at 19.50/hr and he cant offer anything more since he doesnt want any conversations about why people are getting paid more for the same job. no remote no hybrid not even considering it. like wtf . that was the first red flag. second he tells me that this job is very difficult and very demanding and extremely stressful and people quit from day one and if im not ready for that i dont have to take job. the job is basically help desk tier 2 . he then continues to ask me detailed questions about routers and switches and active directory. questioning my skills and in a way felt like he was making fun..”you guy use that type of switch in that kind of environment” thats not what switch is for” then he ridicules my troubleshooting methods , needless to say it almost felt like he was giving me reasons not to take the job. it really almost felt like they had to interview for a job that dont exist. and oh to take holidays off you need to have requested pto in advance. otherwise youll be working all holidays . tf kind of sweat shop that shit.
i pulled up the job listing and it said compensation says between 30-56k a year with potential for hybrid and remote and he was like its not accurate. the pay is set at 19/hr
i was extremely disappointed as i was looking forward for this but i was immediately turned off. this is the second interview that i had with a big company that said that the job is difficult , demanding and have a high turnover. its like they were listing red flags for me. bruh at 19$ an hour dont expect top talent. this is the new minimum wage and i make more doing lyft and uber part time. i dont know what these companies are thinking they will get. the gas and the wear and tear on my car is not worth the drive to make 19/hr
i was really tempted to just end the interview halfway because this is one of these interviews that just made my blood boil. however i walked out of my job due to mental burnout and i have no desire to not only make less but have a much bigger workload and a place that definitely is gonna feel like shit place to work. i do have other interviews waiting for me. im just tired of this shit.
